A Brief Introduction To The Tetrafluoro Flask

Mar 24, 2022

Teflon flasks usually have the appearance of a round belly and a narrow neck, which is markedly different from a beaker. Its narrow mouth is used to prevent the solution from splashing or reduce the evaporation of the solution, and can be used with a rubber stopper to connect other PTFE equipment. When the solution needs to be reacted for a long time or heated to reflux, a Teflon flask is generally chosen as the container. The opening of the flask does not have a protruding notch like a beaker, and the solution is more likely to flow down the outer wall when pouring, so a tetrafluoro stirring rod is usually used to touch the mouth of the bottle to prevent the solution from flowing down the outer wall.

Due to the narrow mouth of the flask, it is not suitable for stirring with a PTFE stirring rod. If it is heated to reflux, a magnetic stirrer can be placed in the bottle to stir with a heating stirrer. Flasks can be divided into two types: flat-bottomed flasks and round-bottomed flasks.
